Jachmann was a noted pilot and flight instructor. He was a electrician by trade and was a "hands-on" pilot. He was considered to be a very good test pilot and trained many new pilots at a special school for the Albatross fighter aircraft.
During WW II he was a technial advisor for the Me-109.

Hi Mike, just wondering where you got the information about Willi Jachmann from. If I can find out more, then he could actually related to me! I just need to check. I do have a relative, a Willi Jachmann who was a WW1 fighter pilot, but before I say that this is him, thenI need to follow leads and information. From what I have seen from photographs of Willi, I feel sure that this must be him. But the name Willi and Jachmann are not uncommon in Germany. And if this is the person that I am searching for, then his son was also called Willi Jachmann {junior}
