A Sopwith Camel takes its final plunge to earth after a dogfight with a Fokker D-VII, somewhere over the Somme River, France.

I once built a Fokker D VII, it had a wingspan of about 2 feet, my friend had the SE 5 Scout "I think it was", so we would get together and dog fight... I didn't do it much; yet that model glided very well, yet crash landed as it had no controls! LOL... Wish they still sold them.

Thanks for another fine piece of art, I enjoy watching you!

I can almost feel the fabric in the wing tearing...

You've done a great job on this. It is truly terrifying, yet very beautiful.

Thank You!

Looks like we lost another good pilot. No way to land that thing in that state.

Error - Fokker D.VII was not in service until Mid-April 1918.

The Camel entered RAF service in 1917, so it was entirely possible for a Camel to encounter a D.VII.

You heard what I said? Fokker D.VII did not enter service in 1917 - That is the error I am talking about.

The Camel was still in service in 1918, so this scenario is possible.

Well, at least you erased the wrong year in the description despite almost making me do a facepalm - Though all you had to do is simply change it to 1918. And that would be fine.

Another amazing piece, bravo! Fascinating how one lower wing and the two halves of the upper wing are lost while the upper brace remains.

Thank You, The break-up is going through stages,I'm sure it will be nothing but a fuselage by the time it hits the ground.

...and that's assuming the panels stay on.
